Exodus of Magic - Episode 6 - Drew
Saturday Sep 18, 2021
Saturday Sep 18, 2021
Drew.
To understand Dungeon Master Eddie's journey, you have to hear about Drew (deceased). Drew was one of those players who had rulebooks memorized, his own ways of doing things, and took delight in turning campaigns on their heads. In our group he introduced us to terms like OMC (old man cleric), I have dice older than you, and repeatedly championed the idea that it was inconceivable anyone would think that this mess was his fault. Drew was the lead instigator in The Party (Episode 3). With even more DnD experience than Dungeon Master Eddie, you'll still be surprised at how he never had backup plans. In Episode 6 we'll talk to his son Dragon, to hear stories and learn what it was like to learn tabletop RPGS (TTRPG) playing with this walking contradiction.
And Drew once nearly drove my car into a doctor's office. Vintage Drew.

The Party.
This doesn't refer to an adventuring party. This was a situation that developed during a placeholder session where half of the players couldn't make the session and the other half wanted to play. Dungeon Master Eddie talks to one of his players from that campaign, Jeff, who was there for a throwaway session where the two players were dealing with a throwaway minor antagonist and created a scenario that changed the campaign that ran from levels 1 to 20 in a way that changed the paradigm, flummoxed the rest of the party forced to deal with the consequences, and created a story that granted DM Eddie the title of Dungeon Master Emeritus.
